Environmental Policy
Throughout the world, sustainable development is increasingly seen as a primary economic-social objective, and this has consolidated ILTE's belief that the environment represents a strategic variable in company management.
ILTE SpA is well-aware of the important effects of human action on the ecosystem and has always been committed to reducing the environmental impacts associated with its activity, insofar as it is technically and economically sustainable.
For this reason, ILTE has decided to develop and implement an environmental management system in accordance with the norm UNI EN ISO 14001: 2004, with an integrated safety management system for the prevention of major accidents; providing appropriate and sufficient resources to reach precise objectives geared towards the prevention of pollution and the continuous improvement of environmental and safety performance.
ILTE SpA's environmental and safety management system is based on the following fundamental principles:
- Ensuring compliance with applicable legal regulations and with other regulations approved by the organisation.
- Raising awareness among people who work for, or on behalf of, the organisation, so that they are aware of the environmental impacts related to their activities and undertake to work with due respect for the environment and safety procedures, thus contributing to the achievement of company objectives.
- Pursuing activities aimed at maximising water saving and energy recovery.
- Carefully controlling manufacturing processes in order to minimise, insofar as it is possible, the consumption of raw materials and favouring the use of materials with less environmental impact.
- Limiting the quantity and dangerousness of waste, wastewater and air emissions, favouring, where feasible, the recovery of materials.
- Preventively assessing all risks related to the possibilities of major accidents, minimising such risks through the controlled management of process parameters.
In 2006, another significant objective in the history of ILTE was achieved: our Environmental Management System was certified by DNV in accordance with norm UNI EN ISO 14001. This was the first time that this important acknowledgement was awarded to a major Italian graphics company, a demonstration of our position of leadership among the major European graphics company. Today, the "ILTE System" makes use of an accurate and effective control tool that helps to raise awareness of the most important environmental issues among workers, be they internal or external, and which helps to fulfil the necessary legal obligations to which ILTE is subject, such as: Integrated Environmental Authorisation (A.I.A.), Emission Trading, Solvent Management, Waste Management, the Seveso, etc... |
